Moorish Room
The Moorish Room at Greysolon Plaza is a large room with 5 columns going down the middle of the room. These middle columns do not have outlets so the lights must be battery operated. Our usual lighting set up is to place two lights on each of the columns on the outside walls, with a light in the middle of the fabric panels between them. Then the middle columns each get 4 battery operated lights. It has become common to have the wedding ceremony in the space, please let us know if you will be getting married here as the ceremony may have special lighting requests.
More Moorish Room photos
We post photos from every wedding and event in the Moorish Room on our Facebook page. The website is for quick info gathering. If you really want to deep dive into more photos, below is a button link to our Facebook page. Each venue has a photo gallery per year. We should also note since we get asked so frequently, that when we take our photos it is usally around 11 or midnight, right before we take down. These photos are not how the room looks during dinner when the room's chandeliers are on. Each chandelier in the ballroom is on a dimmer and the Greysolon staff will adjust the chandeliers brightness as the night progresses. The chandeliers are about 65% during dinner, but very low or off once the dancefloor is the main focus for the rest of the night. Our lighting only looks beter and better as the night goes on.
What our customers say
We got married in the Moorish Room at Greysolon Plaza in June, and Duluth Event Lighting did the lighting for our ceremony and our reception, and they also did a custom gobo (monogram) of our names in an art deco style. It all looked sooooo amazing, and they fulfilled our vision to a T. Ken was great and so easy to work and plan with, and it was awesome that they have so many options to choose from. It was really helpful, too, that there were so many pictures of examples online and on Facebook. It made it much simpler to picture and choose what we wanted. The lighting gave our wedding that extra panache and ambience, and we are so glad that we chose Duluth Event Lighting.
Ken was very easy to communicate and work with. We did uplighting for an April wedding in the Moorish room. Duluth Event Lighting was there first thing in the morning to set up and make sure the bride liked the colors. Would highly recommend.
Our wedding was in the Moorish room at the greysolon in duluth. The lighting was breathtaking! Our guests were blown away with how the room looked! Ken was really nice and made planning everything so easy! Highly recommend them to do your uplighting
